3290996 - Outlook Add-In is Available Only in German Instead of English

You have downloaded the Outlook Add-In but the labels are German instead of English

Note: This KBA is an example and the checks mentioned in this KBA is applicable to other language combination as well

SAP Business bydesign

1. You installed the New Outlook Add-in from Download center

2. When you access the add-in in the MS outlook the language of the Add-in is in German. However your MS outlook and OS languages are in English

The cause for the issue is that the language setting in your PC/Laptop is still pointing to German

Step 1: The log file will specify the language and from where it is being picked up

1. Open Outlook

2. In the Home > SAP Business ByDesign tab, Select on Help > Select Increase Log level (if not already selected)

3. Close Outlook

4. Open Outlook again

5. In the Home > SAP Business ByDesign tab, Select on Help > Show Log file directory

From the downloaded log, check the registry using RegEdit and check the entry for 'AcceptLanguage' maintained in the following Paths:

Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\International

Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\International

If the value is maintained as DE in either of the places then you should change/delete it in Internal Explorer settings.

If the above step didnt resolve the issue then move to below step

Step 2: Preferred Language in the Windows setting

1. Select Windows icon

2. Search for Language Settings

3. In Time & Language > Language & region

4. Under Preferred Language

In the preferred language section If German is coming in the top then this will be taken as the preferred language for applications.

English needs to be added there and in the order it should be moved to the top
