3291502 - Behavior of the business rules on dependents portlet

Symptom

When an onSave rule gets triggered on the dependents portlet, a different workflow is being triggered

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central

Reproducing the Issue

Pre-requisite: The test user / employee already have a test data on the dependents portlet



Sample Business Rule:

  1. Navigate to the dependents portlet
  2. Click on Edit Dependents
  3. Select any effective date
  4. Click on Add Dependents
  5. Fulfil the mandatory fields and the requirements to trigger the workflow
  6. Save
  7. Observe that a different workflow has been triggered

Resolution

This is an expected behavior due to the business rule is reading the grid portlet data for dependents. The business rule will check each rows to verify the conditions set by it.

To resolve this, you need to modify your business rules to satisfy the condition and trigger the correct workflow based on your business requirements.
