3292538 - LDAPS authentication fails when LDAP server restricts protocol to TLS 1.2 only - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • ASE LDAPS connection fails
  • When LDAP server is restricted to only accept TLS 1.2
  • Error 12834 can be seen when testing this from ASE:

    Msg 12834, Level 16, State 4:
    Server 'ASE', Procedure 'sp_ldapadmin', Line 462:
    The login name 'ldap_test_user' is invalid. The LDAP subsystem reported error 'Can't contact LDAP server'
