Symptom
A value that was populated by a workflow rule field update gets deleted again once you edit sales data on a sales quote or sales order.

Reproducing the Issue
A quote or order field's value is being updated by a workflow rule of type field update correctly. Later, you go back to the object and edit a sales data field, for example the sales group. After this, the field that was previously updated by the workflow gets removed.
Resolution
The Sales Order was already transferred to ERP. The workflow rule then sets the value for the field in C4C. After that, when we have changes to sales data, for example to the sales group, the transfer process is triggered again.
From ERP we are getting the field value as blank as it was not set there. Hence, the system is setting it to black. The workflow rule is not interfering here (it was correctly executed and set the value, it is not involved in removing the value).
Please navigate to the sales order's Changes facet to see the details: you will see that the value was deleted by a technical user. This happened during the replication back from ERP as there is no value set on ERP side and ERP is the leading system.
