3292971 - Differences between 'Balance Sheet/Income Statement ' and 'Balance Sheet/Income Statement - Multidimensional' Apps

You enter the same values in both 'Balance Sheet/Income Statement' (ID F0708) and 'Balance Sheet/Income Statement - Multidimensional' (ID W0161) apps but notice differences between the balances.

Enter the same fields in both apps. Note that the filters aren't the same in both apps, so the following should be highlighted:

• Statement type as 'Normal (Actual - Actual) in F0708
• From Period as anything other than '000 (Not assigned)' in W0161

'From Period' not entered as '000 (Not Assigned)' in app 'Balance Sheet/Income Statement - Multidimensional' 

Please note the same values can be seen if the Statement Type is changed to 'Movement (Actual - Actual)' in the standard 'Balance Sheet/Income Statement' app.  

The following UI Assistant documentation of these statement types explains the differences:

Movement (Actual – Actual): Use this type to see the balance sheet amounts only for postings between the periods that you enter. The balances carried forward are not added to the amount found. You enter the starting period in the first field and the last period in the second field.

Normal (Actual – Actual): Use this type to see accumulated balance sheet amounts: The app finds the total amount for the periods in the entered fiscal year starting with period 1 up to the end period that you enter and then adds the balance carried forward.

When anything other than '000 (Not Assigned)' is entered in the multidimensional app, the opening balance is not considered, as only postings made from that period onward are considered.

 

Change the 'From Period' value to '000 (Not Assigned)' in app 'Balance Sheet/Income Statement - Multidimensional'
