You expect the amount shown for the Total Encumbrance field related to a Project Task different than the one showing in the Project Cost and Revenue by Project Structure report.

Reproducing the Issue
- Go to the Business Analytics work center.
- Select Design Reports.
- Open the Project Cost and Revenue by Project Structure report.
- Put your selection criteria.
- Add the Field Total Encumbrance to the report.
- Run the report.
Result: For Project Task ABC(ABC represents the ID of the Project Task) you expect for the field Total Encumbrance to show YYY(YYY represents the expected amount) but it is a different one.
One of the potential reason why you would expect a different amount is based on your time selection. For example the related Purchase Order line item not delivered. The total Encumbrance Amount does not follow time selection. It is a cumulative total and not a period specific one.
As indicated in the Cause section, you should not expect Total Encumbrance amount result based on periods.
You may also use The Encumbrance - Line Items report for the involved Project Task to verify that the amount is correct.
