Symptom
With 1H 2023 release, EC Time off allows multiple payout requests with the same user, pay component, and posting date. (Refer enhancement TIM-494 in What's New Viewer: Multiple Payouts with the Same Posting Date)
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central - Time Off
Resolution
- A payout leads to the creation of a spot bonus i.e a Non recurring pay component. (which is replicated to IT0015 if you use EC Payroll or SAP on premise Payroll).
- To successfully replicate payout requests that share user, posting date, and pay component, Time Constraint 3 needs to be set up for IT0015.
- If this is not set up, you should prevent such payout requests in EC Time as well. This can be done using a custom Time Account Payout Validation rule:
- Go to Configure Business Rules > Create New Rule > Time Management > select rule scenario "Time Account Payout Validation".
- How the rule is defined depends on your scenario:
- You can use a separate pay component for each time account type. Then this is how you may define the rule:
- You use one and the same pay component for multiple time account types. Then you need to explicitly list all the time account types that share a certain pay component, for example:
- You can use a separate pay component for each time account type. Then this is how you may define the rule:
- You assign the rule to the time account payout profile.

- You can use the same rule for all payout profiles.
- You need a separate rule for the different groups of time account types that share one pay component.

Note: This rule is not triggered when the payout is done via Period End Processing(PEP).
