3293784 - Error "Active content in object "FILE0001" was blocked; rule violation "Active content found (EventHandler)"" when trying to upload a PDF to S/4HANA Cloud system

When trying to upload a pdf file to S/4HANA Cloud applications, the following error shows up:

Error while uploading the attachment.
&.pdf: Active content in object "FILE0001" was blocked; rule violation "Active content found (EventHandler)"

The uploaded file contains active contents, which are blocked by the virus scanner. Due to S/4HANA guidelines, active content is not allowed in S/4HANA Cloud and an upload of files with active content is not possible.

The external links in the file are causing this active content violation. (eg: file is pointing to other sheets or data sources) 

Instead of referring to external links, the suggestion is to enter the necessary data or information as much as possible in the pdf itself.

Here also listed some options to avoid the error:

1. ​Trying to remove active content (e.g. the weblink).
2. Wrapping the file into a ZIP and then try to upload it again.
3. Making use of URL attachments in case the file can be stored externally and linked.
