3294060 - Story report returns blank data for Pay Scale Type

Symptom

Story query does not retrieve any data for the picklist field Pay Scale Type from Job Information.

In Manage Business Configuration > jobinfo > Pay Scale Type field - values are sourced from pay-scale-type legacy Picklist

In Picklist Center look for pay-scale-type picklist, values and translations for several language including ENG US exists.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors People Analytics

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Login and go to Report Center
  2. Create a New Story > select Job Information schema.
  3. Select user ID and Pay Scale Type fields from the list of columns
  4. Preview the query.  Notice that no data is returned
  5. Create a Calculated Column and just simply add Pay Scale Type Label or External Name field and the save
  6. Preview the query - still no data.

Cause

PayScaleType does not fetch data once configured as picklist type. The JobInfo schema contains the code and externalName for all FO PayScale objects and show code / Name fetched from manage data only .

Resolution

Here are the alternatives:

  • For Ad-Hoc Reporting – Select the Pay Scale Type column under Job Information
  • For Story (SAC) Reporting – create any custom field as type picklist under Job Information.  Please add a new custom field under Manage Business Configuration -> Job Info and in the details section.  Then fill the details as configured now for identifier pay-scale-type. After that, please provide the permission for the newly introduced custom field under Employee Central Effective Dated entities - JobInfo section. Then try to create a new Story query or remove and add back the field in an existing report .  It'll display the users for which the field is having data.
