Environment
SAP SuccessFactors People Analytics
Reproducing the Issue
- Login and go to Report Center
- Create a New Story > select Job Information schema.
- Select user ID and Pay Scale Type fields from the list of columns
- Preview the query. Notice that no data is returned
- Create a Calculated Column and just simply add Pay Scale Type Label or External Name field and the save
- Preview the query - still no data.
Cause
PayScaleType does not fetch data once configured as picklist type. The JobInfo schema contains the code and externalName for all FO PayScale objects and show code / Name fetched from manage data only .
Resolution
Here are the alternatives:
- For Ad-Hoc Reporting – Select the Pay Scale Type column under Job Information
- For Story (SAC) Reporting – create any custom field as type picklist under Job Information. Please add a new custom field under Manage Business Configuration -> Job Info and in the details section. Then fill the details as configured now for identifier pay-scale-type. After that, please provide the permission for the newly introduced custom field under Employee Central Effective Dated entities - JobInfo section. Then try to create a new Story query or remove and add back the field in an existing report . It'll display the users for which the field is having data.
