3294984 - Dynamic text does not reflect story filter selection when the data access language is not set to English

Symptom

Dynamic text does not change accordingly when changing story filter once data access language is not set to English (source language).

Environment

SAP Analytics Cloud

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Login to SAC
  2. Go to stories
  3. Create a story
  4. Create a chart containing at least one dimension and one measure.
  5. Create a story filter based on the available dimension in the story.
  6. Create a dynamic text based on the same dimension.
  7. Enable translation for the story.
  8. Go to translation and write a translation for the created dynamic text in any language (e.g. French).
  9. When changing the story filter while the data access language is set in English (source language) the dynamic text changes as well.
  10. Change the data access language to the above selected language in step 8.
  11. When changing the story filter while the data access language is set in above selected language (translated language)
    >> the dynamic text does not change and the translated text persists.

Cause

  • This behavior is by design.
  • Once translated, dynamic text becomes static text hence it can't be changed while changing a story filter.
