Symptom
Not all results/columns are showing up when running a table widget in Story report.
Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.
Environment
- SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite
- Analytics & Reporting
- Story Report
- Analytics & Reporting
Reproducing the Issue
- Login to the instance
- Navigate to Reporting
- Run a Story report that has a table widget
- Notice that not all results/columns are showing up in the table when attempting to scroll down to the bottom.
Cause
This occurs because of a default drill limitation, restricting results to 500 rows and 60 columns. This measure is in place to ensure fast loading times and optimized performance.
Resolution
To increase the limit:
- Access the Drill Limitation option through the warning icon on the top of the table widget:
- On the pop up window, select 'Custom'.
- Adjust the drill settings according and click 'OK'.
Note:
- Make sure the cell limit box is checked to avoid performance issues; More than 30000 cells can cause the entire report page to halt.
- It is also not recommended to use Unlimited option.
- When the drill limitation is changed in edit mode, saving the story will retain these settings per table—ensuring the same configuration is applied for future exports and visible to viewers
