3295464 - Error : "The accrual transfer rule result has failed." during an Entitlement Calendar Run

Symptom

  • When an Entitlement calendar runs, you see an error message in Manage Time Off Calendars : "The accrual transfer rule result has failed.".
  • The Time account type accrual transfer object entries for this Time Account seems to have got created without any issues.

Environment

  • SAP SuccessFactors HXM Suite
  • SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Notice that an Entitlement Posting has not been created on an expected date.
  2. Navigate to Manage Time off Calendars and notice the following error : "The accrual transfer rule result has failed.".
  3. If you re-run the entitlement calendar, the Entitlement tends to get posted successfully.

Cause

This is a configuration issue with the "Accrual Transfer Rule" on the Time Account type Involved.

Resolution

  • Modify the accrual transfer rule and move the "Cap Accrual"  rule function usage to a variable and assign the variable to the amount posted field as highlighted on the screenshot below.
  • The "Cap Accrual" business rule function must be used through variables in the rule definition as highlighted in the guide.
