3296159 - Not able to upgrade/uninstall/modify/repair BI/IPS, BI client, DS and IS when the InstallCache folder is mistakenly removed

Symptom

  • All the sub folders under the InstallCache folder is mistakenly removed.
    Sample path of the InstallCache folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\InstallData\InstallCache
  • Not able to upgrade/uninstall/modify/repair BI/IPS, BI client, DS and IS from the Windows Programs and Features. Get error when trying to start the installers:
    A fatal error has occurred which has caused the installer to quit. Please gather any %TEMP% and installer logs to present to your support personnel.
  • Not able to start the installer files of BI/IPS, BI client, DS and IS either. Get error:
    SetupEngine.exe has stopped working
    A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Please close the program.
