3296198 - Currency is shown as "##" in the SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC ) table

Symptom

The following behavior occurs in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC):

  • The data source of a table is the BW live connection.
  • In the styling tab of the table, you set the unit / Currencies in the column (or row).
  • You notice that for some columns, the currency is shown as "##" in the column (or row) header.
  • In this columns, there are some cells of 0 value.

In the Analysis for Office (AFO), the currency is shown as expected.

Environment

  • SAP Analytics Cloud

Cause

AFO logic disregards the unit/currency when the value is 0: '8 USD' + '0 EUR' = '8 USD'.

SAC considers the unit/currency when the value is 0: '8 USD' + '0 EUR' = '8 ##' - mixed units.

Resolution

This is as designed.

Meanwhile, SAC thinks about changing this behavior to match the AFO behavior. However, no estimated date can be shared at the moment.

If you require the same new behavior, please vote for the enhancement request https://influence.sap.com/sap/ino/#/idea/306132.
