3296424 - "Positive distribution percentage is mandatory for product XYZ" When Activating Kit Product for Purchasing

You are trying to activate a Kit Product for purchasing, however when changing the status, the system raises the following error messages:

"Positive distribution percentage is mandatory for product XYZ" (where XYZ represents the Product ID)

"Distribution percentage is not 100% for kit ABC" (where ABC represents the ID of the Kit)

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to Product Data work center.
2. Navigate to the Products View.
3. Search for the kit product and click on Edit.
4. Go to the Purchasing tab.
5. In the Status dropdown list, select value "Active".

Here the error message is raised.

In order to activate a Kit Product, the Distribution Percentage of the products within must sum to 100%, and the individual percentages need to be positive.

This is the system expected behavior.

In order to check and fix the issue, follow the below steps:

1. Go to Product Data.
2. Navigate to the view Kit Item List.
3. Search the Kit Product ID and open it.

Here you can see that the Distribution Percentage column for each product does not sum to 100%, or there are negative percentages for certain products within.
