3297187 - Media mime gets set to application/octet-stream during ImpEx import or synchronization when using external storage

Symptom

Media mime gets set to application/octet-stream which doesn't reflect the image type like jpg, jpeg correctly using "image/jpeg" when:

  • ImpEx import using below which tries to set value for media mime field to "image/jpeg" while media url is using external storage.
    $productCatalog=Default
    $catalogVersion=catalogversion(catalog(id[default=$productCatalog]),version[default='Staged'])[unique=true,default=$productCatalog:Staged]
    $media=@media[translator=de.hybris.platform.impex.jalo.media.MediaDataTranslator]

    # Create medias
    INSERT_UPDATE Media;code[unique=true];$media;mime[default='image/jpeg'];$catalogVersion;folder(qualifier)
    ;test;http:https://domain/**/image/somefoldername/someimagename?wid=1200&hei=1200&fmt=JPG;image/jpeg;;images
  • Synchronize above media item to Online version even after changing the mime type of Staged media item to "image/jpeg".
