Symptom
You perform a basic search inside OWL of a work center. The results displayed are different if you do the same search via Enterprise Search for that specific business object.
Environment
SAP Cloud for Customer
Reproducing the Issue
We will use Opportunities view of Sales work center as example but this is applicable for other work centers.
- Go to the Sales work center.
- Open the Opportunities view.
- In the basic search box, type ABC (where ABC is a criteria for search).
- DEF results are displayed (where DEF are results of basic search done with ABC criteria).
- Now click in the enterprise search icon.
- Select Opportunities in the dropdown menu.
- Type ABC.
- GHI results are displayed (where GHI are results different than DEF).
Cause
The ABC criteria is related to KUT fields. Enterprise search does NOT search on KUT fields, if these fields are not added to it.
Resolution
If you want to search over KUT fields in the enterprise search, these KUT fields have to be enabled for enterprise search.
