3297362 - Message "Sales data for Customer ABC already exists" When Adding Sales Office to Customer Sales Data

Symptom

You have an account with a set of Sales Data (a Sales Org., a Division, a Distribution Channel and a Sales Office). You are trying to add a new sales data entry with same details, only changing the sales office - that is when error message appears. You wonder why it appears since sales office is different.

Environment

SAP Cloud for Customer

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Open the Customers work center.
  2. Open the Accounts view.
  3. Open Account ABC (where ABC is the ID of an account).
  4. Open the Sales Data view.
  5. Notice an entry with DEF (where DEF is a Sales Org.), GHI (where GHI is a Distribution Channel), JKL (where JKL is a Division) and MNO (where MNO is a Sales Office).
  6. Click in the New button to add a new entry of sales data.
  7. In the popup insert DEF, GHI, JKL.
  8. For MNO, select a different sales office value.
  9. Error message "Sales data for Customer ABC already exists".

Cause

Semantical Key of Accounts Sales Data is the SalesArea (triple) which contains Sales Org. | Distribution Channel |Division.

  • Sales Office is only a related property for this Sales Area
  • You can always specify only 1 Sales Office per Sales Area
  • It is only possible to specify different SalesOffices for different SalesAreas

Resolution

 This is the system current standard behavior.
