3298061 - When Data Access Language is set to "English (United Kingdom) or zf (Traditional Chinese), translated data cannot be accessed in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

When a user has the setting "Data Access Language" set to "English (United Kingdom) or zf (繁體中文) in their profile settings, translated master data will not display.  This affects both live and imported models.

In SAC and DWC, there are two types of content translation:

1. Content translation (e.g. Story titles, widget titles, dimension names, etc… )
   This type of content will display correctly when DAL is set to English (United Kingdom) or zf (Traditional Chinese)
   
   
2. Multilingual master data 
   
   • In SAC, you can model dimension member descriptions in different languages.  The Help Documentation can be found here.
   • In DWC, you can do something similar with text entities for any dimension attribute in different languages.  The Help Documentation can be found here.
     
     This type of content will not display correctly when DAL is set to English (United Kingdom) or zf (Traditional Chinese)

Note: Even if you model your master data using "English (United Kingdom)", when you try to consume it with a user profile configured to that Data Access Language, it will not return the translated strings, but instead a fallback of just english strings.
