3298105 - 100% Gross Margin in 'Gross Profit Margin' Design KPI

Symptom

You observe the Gross Margin as 100% in 'Gross Profit Margin' Design KPI eventhough the actual value is lesser than 100% depending on the Gross margin formula = Gross Profit / Net Sales Revenue

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Business analytics work center
  2. Design KPI view
  3. Gross Profit Margin KPI
  4. Preview it and with default values, you see 100% Gross Margin for all Product Categories/product

Cause

Earned Profit Analysis requires some prerequisite configurations like Edit Contribution Margin Scheme which is not configured in customer's system.

Resolution

Once the Configuration is maintained, then you observe the correct Gross Margin. More details on this can be found in below help document.
