Symptom
When monitoring the system, it can be observed that the allocators Pool/parallel/aggregates and Pool/parallel/compactcol are slowly but steadily growing and staying on rather high levels, even though there is currently no activity in the system (e.g. long running statements) that could explain this. Also clearing caches, for example using the command ALTER SYSTEM CLEAR SQL PLAN CACHE is not releasing memory.
An itab leak trace (SAP note 2074981) shows the creation of a substantial number of temporary tables following the naming convention <SID>.<client>.<GUID>, for example XXX.001.005AA6A17D991EDD9ADFD91D6777D9B1 in the relevant time window.
