3298523 - Attachments From Opportunity Not Copied To Sales Quote Created On Sales Documents View

Symptom

You are working with an opportunity that contains attachments. When you go to Sales Activities view and create a new Sales Quote, you do not see the attachments (at least some of them) carried over to it.

Environment

SAP Cloud for Customer

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to the Sales work center.
  2. Open the Opportunities work center view.
  3. Open the opportunity ABC (where ABC is the ID of an opportunity)
  4. Go to the Attachments view and notice DEF attachments (where DEF are attachments of 'standard attachment' and/or customer defined document types).
  5. Now go to the Sales Documents view.
  6. In the Sales Quotes section, click in the New button.
  7. Fill-in required information.
  8. Click in the Save and Open button.
  9. In this new sales quote created, go to the Attachments view.
  10. You will notice GHI attachments (where GHI are attachments different than DEF) from opportunity were copied.

Cause

Attachments of 'Standard Attachment' type are not copied from opportunities to sales quotes. Only attachments of 'Customer defined document types' tied to sales quotes are.

Resolution

You can add/check your customer-defined document types for attachments by following these steps:

  1. Go to the Business Configuration work center.
  2. Open the Overview view.
  3. Search for 'Customer-defined document types for attachments' activity and open it.
  4. In the Document Type Code column, select JKL document type (where JKL is the document you are working with your opportunities/sales quotes).
  5. In the Usage section, look for 'Sales Quote Header' and 'Sales Quote Item' and click in the 'Selected' checkbox.
  6. Save your changes.

This new setup (if you changed something) will be valid for new sales quotes created from now on, not old ones already existent.
