VAT registration number cannot be added in SSCUI 102191 "Enter VAT Registration Number for Plants Abroad or RITA" due to error:

"Entry of VAT number is only possible for company codes in EC or GCC"

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

1. Enter SSCUI 102191 or CBC Activity "Enter VAT Registration Number for Plants Abroad or RITA"
2. Select Company Code and in this case example country/region registration ZA (South Africa)
3. Maintain VAT Reg. No. ZAxxxxxxxxxx
4. Error occurs: "Entry of VAT number is only possible for company codes in EC or GCC"

The VAT Registration Number is used within the EU for tax-exempt deliveries for the "EC Sales List".

In case of Non-EU country/regions maintain "Tax Number" instead of "VAT Reg. No."

Other option is adding VAT Registration Number in BP master data for customers/vendors.
