3300285 - System Allows to Fraction Quantity for Trading Unit in a Sales Order

You are creating a Sales Order with an item that uses a trading unit as its Unit of Measure, such as Pack and you are able to add decimal quantities for the quantity without facing any error.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to the Sales Orders work center.
2. Select the Sales Orders view.
3. Click New Sales Orders.
4. Enter the needed header level data.
5. Navigate to the Items tab.
6. Add material ABC (ABC represents the ID of the material with quantity conversion between Pack and Each).
7. Change the quantity to e.g. 1.2 Pack.

No error is displayed by the system.

The reason the system is allowing decimals to the quantity and not returning any error, is because under Trading Units of the Quantities and Units of Measure activity, the number of decimals for Display Decimals is greater than 0.

This is the system expected behavior.
To solve this, please perform the following steps:

1. Go to the Business Configuration work center.
2. Choose the Implementation Projects view.
3. Select your implementation project from the list.
4. Click the Open Activity List button.
5. Select the Fine –Tune tab.
6. Show All Activities and click the Go button.
7. Select the Quantities and Units of Measure activity.
8. Click the Open button.
9. Select the Create and Maintain Trading Units hyperlink.
10. Select the Line for Pack
11. Display decimals has been maintained for 3.
12. Change the decimals to 0.

Now an error will be displayed when someone makes the attempt of adding decimals for the selected trading unit, such as pack.
