Symptom
When accessing Job info or Comp info sections via Take Action (MSS) > Change Job and Compensation Info or History UIs, events Hire, Rehire, Termination, Leave of Absence (LOA) and No Show events are available for selection even though no active event reasons are associated to these events while not having any employment status defined/selected.
Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.
Environment
- SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central - Job Information
- SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central - Compensation Information
Reproducing the Issue
- Navigate to a user's Job Information section.
- Click On Pencil icon to Edit Job Information.
- Select effective start date.
- You see events Hire, Rehire, Termination, LOA and No Show in the drop down of Event field. Please note that LOA and No Show will be available if these features are configured in the system.
We observe the same behavior even when the transaction is performed in MSS.
Cause
The issue occurs when there are some inactive event reasons with the following configurations:
- Associated to the events Hire, Rehire, Termination, Leave of Absence and No Show.
- Do not have any value selected for their Employee Status field.
Resolution
To resolve the issue, you should correct the incorrect configuration by following these steps:
- Search for the problematic inactive event reason(s) in Manage Organization, Pay and Job Structures.
- Make Correction > Select correct Employee Status value.
- Save.
You can refer to the following documentations to know the correct Employee Statuses for event reasons associated with different Events:
2617429 - Event Reason Availability and Configuration in Employee Central
In order to know which event reasons have the above mentioned incorrect configurations, please follow these steps:
- Navigate to Admin Center > Data Inspector tool.
- Select the Entity - Table_FO_EVENT_REASON_T.
- In Define Filter Criteria select the following:
- Event Equals the corresponding event's Option ID. For example, you can navigate to Picklist Center > search for picklist event > Click on Details of event Hire > Copy the value from the field Option ID.
- Click on Show Data.
- In the following example, you can find all the event reasons with event Hire (Option ID 30059 in the system). There are 3 event reasons with Effective Status I (Inactive) and Employment Status blank as shown below:
