3300401 - New Tracker Created after Running the Benefits Employee Master Data Changes Job

Symptom

  • Employee data was processed and an initial Benefits Employee Master Data Change Tracker record was created
  • There is a recurring entry for the job "Create or Update Benefit Enrollments for Employee Master Data Changes"
  • After the job runs, the original tracker record's status is set to SUCCESS
  • On the other hand, a new tracker record was created as well with a new Planned Job Run Date
  • There are Benefits of type Insurance configured in the system

Reproducing the Issue

Prerequisite:

Ensure you have completed the recommended step-by-step set up for the job. See SAP Blog here.

  1. Hire an employee or process any data that will trigger the onPostSave rule to create the tracker record
  2. Go to Manage Data, check if the initial tracker was created.




  3. Run the job or wait till the next execution date


  4. After the job is completed, check the status of the initial tracker record. Verify if it's successful.




  5. Search for the employee ID and see that there's a new tracker record created with a new planned job run date

Resolution

This is currently expected system behavior and will happen when Benefit of Type Insurance is involved as part of the transaction.

The system takes into consideration the Insurance Rate Chart configuration, particularly the Age Groups maintained. IF there are multiple age groups, it creates a tracker based on whenever the user falls into the next age group.

If there's only a single age group, the system will still create a new tracker record with Planned Job Run Date = Date of Birth + Age To + 1.

In this example, this is the rate chart configuration.

And this is the sample employee's data.

To evaluate the employee's eligibility once he exceeds the age group range, the system creates the new tracker record with respect to the date of birth.
