3301252 - Error "ADMINISTRATIVE_CATEGORY_CODE-CONTENT is missing ADMINISTRATIVE_CATEGORY_CODE-LIST_ID is missing" While Changing Administrative Category

Symptom

While changing Administrative Category error message appears

ADMINISTRATIVE_CATEGORY_CODE-CONTENT is missing

ADMINISTRATIVE_CATEGORY_CODE-LIST_ID is missing

Environment

 SAP Business ByDesign

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Personnel Administration Workcenter
  2. Go to Regular Tasks View
  3. Choose Change Administrative Category
  4. Search Employee 
  5. Input the details 
  6. Save

Cause

In a Replication scenario, the Administrative Category Code is not maintained and therefore, never gets sent into ByD during a Replication Request. However in standard ByD system with no replication, this is a Mandatory field during a Hire / Transfer scenario.

This error is thrown because employee hiring is done when master data replication was in scope.

Resolution

You must manually maintain this Administrative Category for each affected Employee.This can be done by

  1. Go to Regular Tasks
  2. Change Administrative Category and the change date, must be from the beginning of the Work Agreement of the required Employee.
  3. The administrative category is adjusted as per the number of additional clauses defined under Personnel File of the employee -- Employment Tab -- Work Agreement tab.

NOTE: There is no way to complete this process in-mass for the Customer, each instance will need to be tackled manually using the above process.
