Symptom

  • The SAP Adaptive Server Enterprise receives an infected with 11 message in the error log
  • The module of the failure is in dfl_dmp_initflushlist
  • A stacktrace follows along with a spinlock message:
    Spinlock Resource->rdumpdb_spin at address 0xaddress owned by xxxxxx

  • The ASE implicitly shuts down due to a spinlock is held while the segmentation fault occurs
