3301324 - Signal 11 in proc__deallocmem or procrm that can crash server - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • ASE errolog reports a signal 11 with stack trace including proc__deallocmem or procrm
    • This may be triggered by running dbcc proc_cache(free_unused) when having large procedure cache size
  • Typical log entries include :

    Current process (0x1b490810) infected with signal 11 (SIGSEGV)
    Address 0x0x0000000001d54da6 (proc__deallocmem+0x146) ...

    or

    Address 0x0x0000000001b5ea35 (procrm+0x1e5) ...
