3301456 - Onboarding - Internal Hire Process Event Reason not derived from the rule

Symptom

When initiating Internal Hire Process, the Event Reason is not derived from the rule




Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding 

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Enable Enhanced Internal Hire Process 
  2. Initiate Internal Hire process from RCM
  3. Send Event Reason from RCM
  4. onSave derivation business rule does not apply 

Cause

  • Expected behaviour based on EC logic

Resolution

  1. If the event reason is provided from RCM (we also see in the rule the event reason is compared to a specific event reason in the if condition), then the event reason provided from RCM is taken into account rather than the event reason derivation by onSave business rule.
  2. If an event reason is not provided from RCM, then the event reason is derived using the onSave business rules.
  3. Below is the documentation on the behaviour for the imports ,same will be the behaviour with service layer (Enable Enhanced Internal Hire Process enabled setting) with regards to event reason from RCM .
