3301654 - RBAM Error while accessing Activity Planner views

When trying to create an activity plan, you get an RBAM error.

SAP Cloud for Customer

For the Activity Planner views we currently offer Access Restriction available by the following options:

Plans -> Access Context 2021
Routing Rules -> Access Context 2022

In both we offer access restriction rule 99.

If a restriction is in place for a user and default org. determination is NOT in place, then the user will received this error message until an org unit is manually entered.

Users cannot create any plan/ rule UNLESS the org unit gets maintained during object creation - if this is empty (or set incorrectly) then an RBAM error appears.

The organization unit needs to be maintained to the object if the user is restricted by rule 99, otherwise the system considers the object outside of the user's access and will through the error. To help users, you can scope automatic sales unit determination (sales data does have to be maintained for the users for this to work).

To do so:

  1. In the Business Configuration work centre, Implementation Projects view, select the relevant Implementation Project.
  2. Navigate to step 3. Questions.
  3. Here, expand: Sales > Account and Activity Management > Activity Management.
  4. Here, find the question:
  5. "Do you want to default Organizational Unit of logged in user for Activity Plans/Routing Rules?"
  6. Add to your scope as needed.
  7. Finish the scoping. Reload the system.

This is expected system behaviour. If your business would like to suggest a change to the behaviour, please post your suggestion on our Influence page.
Please note that it is not possible for our Support Team to provide you additional information regarding the availability of this feature in a future release.
