Symptom
When trying to create an activity plan, you get an RBAM error.
Environment
SAP Cloud for Customer
Cause
For the Activity Planner views we currently offer Access Restriction available by the following options:
- Plans -> Access Context 2021
- Routing Rules -> Access Context 2022
In both we offer Access Restriction rule 99.
If a restriction is in place for a user and default org. determination is NOT in place, then the user will received this error message until an org unit is manually entered.
Resolution
The Org Unit field needs to be maintained on the object creation if the user is restricted by rule 99, otherwise the system considers the object outside of the user's access and will through the error.
If the Org Unit field is hidden via Adaptation mode, the system will also consider this data empty and will throw the RBAM error.
The solution is to have the Org. Unit field maintained and visible, and with correct data upon Activity Plan creation.
You can also help users skip the manual input of Org. Unit, you can scope automatic sales unit determination (sales data does have to be maintained for the users for this to work).
To do so:
- In the Business Configuration work centre, Implementation Projects view, select the relevant Implementation Project.
- Navigate to step 3. Questions.
- Here, expand: Sales > Account and Activity Management > Activity Management.
- Here, find the question:
- "Do you want to default Organizational Unit of logged in user for Activity Plans/Routing Rules?"
- Add to your scope as needed.
- Finish the scoping. Reload the system.
