3301982 - Migration of a HANA Database results in double the amount of used space by tables on the new target system

Symptom

  • A HANA DB was migrated to a new system via typical migration tools such as SWPM/R3load. (e.g, scenarios such as those described in SAP Notes 2537080, 2802500)
  • After the migration the total memory and/or disk space used by the HANA DB tables on the target system, are twice as much as the source DB, even though the tables contain the same amount of actual record data on both systems. 
  • Mini checks report reveals the following critical alert : 
    • M0560    Tables > 10 Mio. rows not compressed        133    0    X     2105761
  • Is this size increase expected behavior ??
