3302354 - How to prevent users from making any DML changes in a specific database? - SAP ASE

Symptom

  • Need to prevent any updates coming from the application users during host switch over. The application users continue to have access to all the databases directly.
  • DBA's are not able to disable/shutdown application.
  • Replication is running with warm standby using table level replication.
  • The host switch over is going to affect only one of the several databases. Therefore the DBA team cannot utilize any server-level change.
