Symptom
- A Variant Configuration (VC) product from S/4HANA containing an attribute with multiple values, isn't displayed in CPQ as ‘Checkboxes’ as expected after doing KB sync.
- Instead it is displayed as a “User input – String” of Attribute Type "User Selection". PFA screenshot.
- So instead of having a list of possible values, the user must provide it himself.
"Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental."
Environment
SAP SALES CLOUD CPQ
Resolution
- Characteristics with multiple values with the type String that are marked with additionalValues in the knowledge base can be used with both user selection and as manual user input in the back-end system.
- However, those characteristics are synchronized to SAP CPQ as attributes with only the Free Input type, because their back-end type isn't supported.
- Numeric characteristics marked with additionalValues in the knowledge base are also displayed as free input in SAP CPQ, but with a range provided for the allowed values.
- Please refer to the help documentation Technical Overview | SAP Help Portal for more information on this.
