3302697 - Currency Symbol displays in cells even though no mixed-currency is visible in the table

A story created with default currency view in formatting displays the currency symbol in the cells of the table instead of the table subtitle.

This issue may only occur for certain dimension members in the story or page filter.

The table behaves as if there is mixed currency values in the table, but only a single currency data is found.

SAP Analytic Cloud, all versions

1. Create a story containing a table with data for a model that has at least one dimension with currency attribute enabled.
2. When changing dimension member filters for dimensions other than the one with the currency attribute, some combinations will show the currency symbol in each cell, as if there are multiple currencies displayed.
3. Other members will correctly show the currency in the subtitle of the header.

• Issue can occur if there are any in-table formulas (such as a column that sums the previous columns) and all cells that are being referenced in the formula are null.
• In this case as there is no underlying data in the formula it is not possible to retrieve a currency reference for the underlying data and the cell will be shown without currency.
• For instance, if you have 4 columns for each quarter of a year and create a fifth column that sums the first four, if all quarters for a particular row are unbooked (dashes) then the formula will return zero without returning a currency reference.
• This will trigger the display of currency in all other cells as the table is now considered as having mixed currency values.

As the display itself is working as designed for mixed currency values, the only way to prevent this from occurring is to use a formula that will always reference at least one cell that contains data, even if this data is zero (which is not the same as an unbooked cell).
