3303763 - Native preferred language field (regardless the picklist used) can not be used to populate language in emails.

If the native preferred language field is linked to the standard language picklist field , it cannot be used to populate language in emails.

Field : Native Preferred Language in manage business configuration and it is linked to the picklist field language.

If you check the picklist under picklist centre you will see the external code is : sv

Since onboarding is expecting values : sv_SE as the external code, this field cannot be used to set the email locale

Because the external code of the standard language picklist is having values : sv , es , en etc.

Product Limitation.
