3304344 - Error message "3 digit(s) permitted after the decimal point" appears when trying to change the surcharge (%)

Symptom

Unable to set a surcharge percentage with e.g. 4 decimal values.

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to Product and Service Portfolio
  2. Select Surcharges view
  3. From the drop-down, select Surcharge: Customer / Product Category %
  4. Open account XYZ (where XYZ represents the company)
  5. Change the percentage to e.g. 0.0000%
  6. Save

The following error appears:

"3 digit(s) permitted after the decimal point"

Cause

  1. Go to Business Configuration work center
  2. Open Implementation Projects view
  3. Click on Open Activity List button
  4. Search for Quantities and Units of Measure
  5. Under Physical Units, select Create and Maintain Physical Units
  6. Search for Percentage, under Display Decimal

The display decimal has been set to 3 decimal values.

Resolution

  1. Go to Business Configuration work center
  2. Open Implementation Projects view
  3. Click on Open Activity List button
  4. Search for Quantities and Units of Measure
  5. Under Physical Units, select Create and Maintain Physical Units
  6. Search for Percentage, under Display Decimal, change to 4 decimal values
  7. Save
