3304922 - Why does the local(on device) database not reduce in size after clearing the data?

Symptom

  • Clearing all cache entries in the local database did not reduce the size of the database.
  • Use the api's 'count' and 'isEmpty' to validate whether the database data has been cleared. 
  • Despite the database data being cleared the database file size was not reduced.
