3305060 - SaveAlert Rules Not Displaying in Rule Trace Log

Symptom

After making changes for a user and triggering the EC Alerts and Notifications job the rule trace which was configured to capture the saveAlert rules is blank.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central

Reproducing the Issue

  • Create rule trace to capture saveAlert rules
  • Set the "Login user" in the rule trace as the user who is making the changes on the users profile
  • Save the changes on the users profile
  • Run the EC Alerts and Notifications job
  • Download the rule trace and see that the saveAlert have not been captured by the rule trace.

Cause

The Job Owner of the EC Alerts and Notifications job is considered to be the user who is triggering the saveAlert rules.

Resolution

When creating the rule trace please ensure that the "Login user" is set as the Job Owner of the EC Alerts and Notifications job.
After triggering the job, the saveAlert rules will be ran against the changes in the system and you can then download the rule trace and view how the saveAlert rules have behaved.
