Business ByDesign

1. Go to Planning and Production Master Data Work Center. 
2. Navigate to the Product Specifications View. 
3. Choose the New button and select the option Product Specification. 
4. Enter the relevant mandatory values in the available fields and choose the Save button. 

You receive the above reported error.

You have not maintained the option to Sell Specified Products in Business Configuration.

1. Go to Business Configuration work center. 
2. Navigate to the Implementation Projects view. 
3. Select the relevant project and choose the button Edit Project Scope. 
4. Navigate to the Scoping chevron and expand the Scoping Element Sales. 
5. Under Sales expand Product and Service Portfolio for Sales element. 
6. Mark the element Sell Specified Products. 
7. Choose the Next button and finish editing the project scope by choosing the Finish button. 

Once the above steps are maintained the reported error will not occur while creating product specifications.
