3305433 - Different User appearing for the field Created By in Source Document compared to Journal entries data source

For the field "Created By" the User appearing in the Source Document is not the same as the one appearing in the data source Journal entries.

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go the General Ledger work center.
2. Select the Source Documents View.
3. Search for All Source Documents and ID XXX. (XXX represents the ID of the source document)

Result: The field "Created By" shows ABC. (ABC represents the User ID)

Then, follow the below path:

1. Go to the Business Analytics work center.
2. Select Design Data Sources View.
3. Search for Journal Entries.
4. Click on Preview.
5. Search for the document Journal Entry ID.

Add in row fields "Created By".

Result: User appearing is DEF. This differs from the user visible in the Source Document.

The Source document, when created, must have got stuck as an unposted document for a time. It could be for various reasons such as period closure or missing data. However, the user that can be seen in the Journal Entries data source is the one that reprocessed the document and got it posted.

This is therefore the expected system behavior. The reason behing the difference is due to a second User processing the document to get it posted to accounting.
