3305674 - Error Message "Availability Period in employee's resource profile blocks this event"

You are unable to change the termination date in the personnel file of the employee. Post changing the termination date when you click on save you get the below error message:

Information: This can be removed by navigating to the Resource Management work center

1. Go to Personnel Administration Work center.
2. Go to view Employees.
3. Search and open the employee for which change in termination date is intended.
4. Go to Employment tab and change the termination date.
5. You will see the error message: Availability Period in employee's resource profile blocks this event
6. You will see information message: This can be removed by navigating to the Resource Management work center
   
   

A possible cause of the issue is the availability period data maintained for resource type as service agents in the resource profile of the employee. This information is maintained in Resource Management work center.

To fix the issue, you need to remove the availability period entry for the service agent as follows:

1. Go to Resource Management work center
2. Select on Resource Profile view
3. Search for relevant employee
4. Select on Edit button and choose Resource Profile
5. In section Availability Period for Work Assignment, select the start and end date of the service agent
6. Select Delete button
