3305937 - Fields are shown as deprecated in app Display Line Items in General Ledger

Symptom

The following fields are shown as deprecated in the Fiori app in App Display Line Items in General Ledger (F2217) although they are available and usable:

“WBS Element” is shown as “WBS Element (Deprecated)“

“Project” is shown as “Project (Deprecated)“

“Partner Project” is shown as “Partner Project (Deprecated)“

“Partner WBS Element” is shown as “Partner WBS Element (Deprecated)“

“Inventory WBS Element” is shown as “Inventory WBS Element (Deprecated)“

Environment

Reproducing the Issue

In App Display Line Items in General Ledger (F2217) chose Adapt Filters.
Fields WBS Element (Deprecated), Project (Deprecated), Partner Project (Deprecated), Partner WBS Element (Deprecated), and Inventory WBS Element (Deprecated)
can be chosen from the list.

Cause

Deprecation for CDS View development

The fields from the list above have been deprecated for CDS View development.

They have successor fields, which shall be used instead (shown here with the text of the app labels):

“WBS Element” → “WBS Element External ID”

“Project” → “Project External ID”

“Partner Project” → “Partner Project External ID”

“Partner WBS Element” → “Partner WBS Element External ID”

“Inventory WBS Element” → “Inventory WBS Element External ID”

The deprecation for CDS view development is the reason that the fields from the list above are being mistakenly shown in CE2302 as deprecated also in the Fiori App Display Line Items in General Ledger (F2217).

Resolution

Availability in the Fiori App

So far it is not planned to exchange the fields in the Fiori app.

Currently no action item for the application and the user variants is needed.

Solution:

The labels of the fields will be corrected with CE2308 and the text will be reverted, as “Deprecated” will be removed.
