3306662 - How to adjust the display position of custom fields?

Symptom

Custom fields have been created and displayed in the header of the service order. It does not work when selecting a field in edit mode and trying to drag and drop it. In other words, it is not possible to adjust the display position of custom fields.

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud

Resolution

Although it is not supported to "drag and drop" the custom fields directly, there is a workaround for this kind of situation. Please refer to the below steps:

  1. Right click the group that the custom fields belong to and select "Create Group".
  2. You can leave the "Caption" as blank and directly click "Continue".
  3. Right click again the group that the custom fields belong to and select "Edit Group".
  4. Deselect the custom field A that you would not to display in the group and click "Save and Close".
  5. Right clcik in the blank and click "Edit Group" and then select the custom field A into this group.

If you'd like to adjust the order of the custom fields in a certain group. Please go on following the below steps:

  1. Right click the group of the "custom field B" and select "Edit Group".
  2. Deselect the "custom field B" and click "Save" but do not close the page.
  3. Select the "custom field C" and then click "Save and close".
  4. In this way the "custom field C" will be displayed above the "custom field B".
