Symptom
This KBA will explain the reason why unable to export the renamed column's custom value (from story design page) with the "Scope" as "All" in Report Stories, and workaround provided.
Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.
Environment
- SAP SuccessFactors People Analytics
- SAP SuccessFactors HXM Suite
Reproducing the Issue
- Open a story report and rename column name from story designer page.
- Export on Component(Table/Chart) level.
A. When we select Export "Scope“ as ”Point of view“, both csv and xlsx file will show the renamed column's name value.
B. When we select Export "Scope" as "All", both csv and xlsx file will not show the renamed column's name value.
Cause
In the "All" as "Scope", export will directly takes the data from the database and drops it into the exported document(both csv. and xlsx.), there is no additional formatting applied. so the column name we seen in the document is the data formatted as it comes from the database, not as it does in the story page.
In the "Point of View" as "Scope", it takes the formatted data directly from the story page Table and so could provide this extra formatting.
Resolution
Please change (custom) the column name from Data source design page, then this renamed column value will be exported in both "All" and "Point of View" as "Scope".
Also this is behavior as expected based on SAC product, a product request has been submitted and status has been acknowledged, please place a vote to show interest for product to consider for future enhancements.
