Symptom

  • Local connections fail with ORA-12547.

         sqlplus / as sysdba

         ERROR:
         ORA-12547: TNS:lost contact

  • The Oracle software is installed under folder /oracle which nosetuid/nosuid option is set in the OS /etc/fstab configuration file.

/oracle on /dev/vx/dsk/oracle read/write/nosetuid/nodevices
or
/oracle on /dev/vx/dsk/oracle read/write/nosuid/nodevices
