3308547 - "The login failed" error occurs while testing the connection of MS SQL database on Azure PaaS datastore - SAP Cloud Integration for Data Services

Symptom

  • The following error is dropped by pressing the "Test Connection" button on an MS SQL database on Azure PaaS datastore:

    Test failed for the default configuration '<datastore configuration>' of datastore: '<datastore name>':
    ODBC call <SQLDriverConnect> to connect database <<server name>> failed with error: <ODBC call <SQLDriverConnect> for data source <<server name>> failed: <[Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][SQL Server]Cannot open server "<server>.com" requested by the login. The login failed.

  • MS Active Directory user (like <name>@<server>.com) is used in the datastore configuration.
