3309328 - User A can see subject user B's workflow request under manage workflow requests even B is out of A's target population

Symptom

User A can see subject user B's workflow request under Manage Workflow Requests even B is out of A's target population.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central

Reproducing the Issue

1.Use User Role Search to confirm User A has no role permission for User B regarding Manage Workflow Requests permission.

2.User A goes to Manage Workflow Requests and can see user B's workflows by applying filters like Request Status.

Cause

If this workflow is a Hire/Rehire request, and this new hire has no direct manager maintained then Manage Workflow Requests does not respect role-based permission as system could not judge new hire's role nor can judge whether this new hire is in target population or not.

Resolution

If you want to have Manage Workflow Requests permission to be respected, please maintain direct manager for this new hire, and system will judge whether direct manager is in the target population or not instead of this new hire, if user B's direct manager is not in user A's target population, then user A would not see B's workflow request under Manage Workflow Requests.
