3310085 - Onboarding process not initiating correctly due to invalid Process Variant error- Onboarding

• Onboarding process is not initiating correctly and the process variant is blank on Manage data.
• Error from BPE Monitor Process: Select Variant Error Task
• When I start onboarding, the process variant is blank or missing (Manage Data shows no variant), so the process never initiates.
• The BPE Monitor puts my candidate into a “Select Variant Error Task” (variant selection error), and onboarding stalls.
• Even when onboarding triggers, tasks don’t get created or managed correctly because the assigned process variant isn’t active or isn’t assigned.
• My configuration seems off—rules/conditions (e.g., for specific statements like physical demand) don’t match, so the system can’t pick a valid variant.
• Onboarding fails to execute due to inactive/unassigned variants and misconfiguration, leaving candidates stuck and the process not progressing.

SAP SuccessFactors Onboarding

Cause 1:

• The Process Variant is not active

Cause 2:

• The variant rule not matching any condition

Solution 1:

• In order to solve this go to Process variant and Activate the process again.
• Make sure after activate to Update Process Flow for Onboarding and Offboarding.

Solution 2:

• Make sure the business rule with scenario "Select Process Variant" rule is evaluated to true as the candidate need to have data to match conditions.
