3311938 - Short Dump when synchronizing results from tosca to solution manager

After executing test cases from Tosca in a previously synchronized test package and checking in the results, tosca creates a job in the solution manager system to update the test case executions which results in a "ASSERTION_FAILED" or "MESSAGE_TYPE_X" ABAP short dump.
